I'm looking for some really good books I normally wouldn't read?

I would recommend the author Michael Connelly. He writes murder mysteries, but in my opinion they are more than that and go deeper than you see on the surface. One of his books contains some Edgar Allan Poe, it is called the poet. I read these in Middle and High school, but they are more geared toward adults.
