He's popular. does he like me?

well.... i really like this guy, but the problem is he is popular and I'm well not. He's in my homeroom and his locker is near mine. We talk occasionaly, but at the beginning of the year he used to tease me, like, all the time. And whenever he's with his friends he is mean to me. Should I go for him, or just give up on him? help!!
