I am so scared to fly on a plane..?

Well, when someone hasn't been on a plane since they were a little kid, it is hard to do it again when you're older and understand the fear and risks. Out of all the plane crashes, the other 99% of flights are successful, but there will always be a risk with everything. I understand your ogy about having control over a car though. The best thing to do is take deep breaths, try not to look out the window (maybe get an aisle seat on purpose?) and try to not think too much about it.
